سُئل مفتي الشامِ العلامةُ العِمادِيُّ الحنفيُّ (ت1051هـ) عن الباطنية الذين في الساحل السوريِّ عندما تجمَّعوا وتحصَّنوا، وأعدوا الشوكةَ والنكايةَ بالمسلمين:
ـ لا يجوز لوُلاة الأُمورِ تركُهم أبدًا ! ـ ويكون قتيلُهم مخلَّدًا في نار الجحيم، وقتيلُ مُحاربيهم شهيدًا في جنات النعيم ... ـ ومَن أَمر بإزالتهم مِن وُلاة الأُمور: فهو مُثابٌ مأجور. ـ ومَن قدَّر الله تعالى إزالتَهم في دَولتِه، وطهَّر الأرضَ المقدَّسةَ في زمنِ وِلايتِه: فله أعظمُ السَّعادة وأكملُ الأُجور؛ لما في ذلك مِن إعزاز دينِ الإسلام، والانتصارِ لنبيِّنا محمَّدٍ عليه الصَّلاةُ والسَّلام، انتهى.
