Asking for new linux laptop recommendations!

Hello everyone and a happy new year!

For the last 7 years, I used my 14' e480 (8/256).
I also, some time ago, replaced ram (32 gb) and added sata ssd for it.
It is still quite good and enough for me, but I'm a little tired of it, and I decided to buy a new laptop and give this one to my mom :)

I like reliability (some really bad falls) and keyboard of this laptop (yes, it's lenovo, but I still really like it), so I'm thinking about another thinkpad

My main use cases are browsing and vscode with ssh.
I also used linux almost all my life, so I don't want to use macos (I tried a macbook at work some time ago and didn't like it) and windows (same)

I'm really interested in such things:
1) good linux experience, so arm laptops maybe are a bad option?
2) lightweight, so 13-14 screens would be enough
3) cold as possible, I think I had trauma with my work dell laptop, which died because it overheated
4) good battery life is always good, ofc, but I'm ok to be a protosaber user :)
5) I also don't need a non-integrated (discrete) gpu
