Mom needs Christmas advice!
Hey-I’m completely lost. My 16 year old asked for a thinkpad for Christmas. I am hoping to not spend more than $600 USD. But I have no clue what I am doing. He is big into coding, wants to make video games one day and going to a coding high school. He has clarified that he wants the thinkpad for “work” (coding) and not for gaming (he has a gaming PC).
He sent me a link to “novo Thinkpad T14 (Gen 1) 14" Laptop, AMD Ryzen 5 Pro 4650U 2.1Ghz, 16GB DDR4, 512GB NVMe SSD, 1080p Full HD, Windows 11 Pro (Renewed)” for $353-is this a good buy? Will it last and be useful or would I be wasting my money on that? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!!! Is there something else I should be looking at? This will probably end up being his college laptop too.
