عن أمير المؤمنين عليه السلام: ... من سره أن يعلم أمحب لنا أم مبغض فليمتحن قلبه, فإن كان يحب ولينا فليس بمبغض لنا, وإن كان يبغض ولينا فليس بمحب لنا, إن الله تعالى أخذ ميثاقاً لمحبنا بمودتنا, وكتب في الذكر اسم مبغضنا, نحن النجباء وأفراطنا أفراط الانبياء.
Imam Ali said, 'Whoever desires to know whether they are a lover of ours or a hater, let them examine their heart. If they love our supporter, then they are not a hater of ours. And if they hate our supporter, then they are not a lover of ours. Verily, Allah, the Almighty, took a covenant from our lovers regarding their affection for us, and He inscribed the name of our haters in the Scripture.
