در حیرتم که چرخ چرا غرق خون نشد
در ماتم حسین، زمین واژگون نشد

چون آفتاب یثرب و بطحا غروب کرد
رخسار آفتاب، چرا قیرگون نشد

چون فخر کاینات، نگون شد ز پشت زین
بنیاد کاینات، چرا سرنگون نشد

جان جهان ز جشم جهان رفت و وین عجب
این جانِ سخت از تنِ یاران برون نشد

افتاد آسمان امامت چو بر زمین
ساکت چرا سپهر و زمین، بی‌سکون نشد

آن تیره شب دریغ که در دشت کربلا
بر رهنمای خلق کسی رهنمون نشد

«خاقان» به ماتم شه دین گفت با فغان
معدوم از برای چه این چرخ دون نشد

دردا که زندگی به دو عالم حرام شد
کین چرخ سفله دشمن دین را به‌کام شد
