المؤمن يستر وينصح، ولا يهتك ويفضح .. ومن صفات الله عز وجل أنه سِتِّيرٌ، يستر الذنوب والعيوب، وفي حديث النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: (إن الله عز وجل حَيِيٌّ سِتِّيرٌ، يُحبُّ الحياء والستر) رواه أبو داود وصححه الألباني، أي: يحب الستر لعباده المؤمنين، ستر عوراتهم، وستر ذنوبهم، فيأمرهم أن يستروا عوراتهم، وأن لا يجاهروا بمعاصيهم في الدنيا، وهو يسترها عليهم في الآخرة.
