Another round of talks on launching air connectivity between Cyprus and Kazakhstan has concluded on a positive note, with flights expected to commence in 2026. Kazakh airlines will be able to operate routes to Larnaca and Paphos, while Cypriot carriers will have the option to fly to Astana and Almaty.

That said, such discussions have been ongoing for years, resurfacing like baggage on a carousel, yet never quite reaching the runway. However, perhaps this time, planes will actually take off from Kazakhstan to Cyprus (and back) instead of remaining on the list of "promising projects."
