دانشمندان در بریتانیا برای اولین بار یک واکسن سرطان را بر روی بیماران آزمایش کردند. این واکسن که از سوی شرکت‌های مدرنا و ام‌اس‌دی تهیه شده، در اصل برای سرطان پوستی ملانوما طراحی شده، اما احتمالا می‌تواند از سرطان ریه، مثانه و کلیه نیز جلوگیری کند.
