پژوهشگران دانشگاه کلمبیا در دانشکده پزشکی و جراحان واگلوس، به رهبری دکتر رائول رابادان، یک مدل هوش مصنوعی آینده نگر ایجاد کرده‌اند تا به بررسی و درک بهتر عملکرد داخلی سلول‌ها، چه سالم و چه بیمار، کمک کنند.
مدل پیش بینی کننده GET از داده‌های دسترسی به کروماتین و توالی‌های ژنومی برای پیش‌بینی الگوهای بیان ژن از میلیون‌ها سلول به‌دست‌آمده از بافت‌های طبیعی انسان استفاده می‌کند. این داده‌ها GET را آموزش دادند تا نحوه عملکرد کلی سلول‌ها را درک کند، که امکان پیش‌بینی در سلول‌های طبیعی یا بیمار را فراهم می‌کند.
