هر کس نذر کرد عبادتي انجام دهد و سپس نتوانست به آن وفا کند بايد کفاره سوگندش را بدهد :
از عقبه بن عامر روايت است که پيامبرr فرمود : (کفارة النذر کفارة اليمين)[1] «کفاره نذر همان کفاره سوگند است».
کسي که نذر کند سپس بميرد هر کس نذر کرد و قبل از وفا کردن به آن مرد، وليّ (سرپرست) او بايد نذرش را انجام دهد :
از ابن عباس روايت است : (استفتي سعد بن عبادة رسول اللهr في نذر کان علي أمه توفيت قبل أن تقضيه. قال رسول اللهr : فاقضه عنها)[2] «سعد بن عباده از پيامبرr درباره نذري که بر گردن مادرش بود و قبل از وفاي به آن فوت کرده بود سؤال کرد. پيامبرr فرمود : به جاي او آن را انجام بده».
