Awf Ibnu Maalik رضي الله عنه narrated that the Messenger of Allāh صلى الله عليه وسلم said:

“The Jews split into seventy-one sects, one of which will be in Paradise and seventy in Hell. The Christians split into seventy-two sects, seventy-one of which will be in Hell and one in Paradise. I swear by the One Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad, my nation will split into seventy-three sects, one of which will be in Paradise and seventy-two in Hell.” It was said: “O Messenger of Allah, who are they?” He said: “The main body.” Ibnu Maajah 3992, shaykh Al-Albaanee authenticated it in Saheeh ibni Maajah 2/2634

Question #46

Assalaamu alaykum

Is it from the guidance of the Righteous salaf that a woman suggests other women to her husband to Marry from them?

If not, is it correct or wrong?

Answer by Shaykh Ahmad Al-Umaree

This question is not clear,

What I understand from it is

"Can a woman propose to some sisters to marry her husband from them?"

This is what I understood (from the question) .

If it's like that, then there is no problem in that, however this woman is very rare/scarce (in regards goodness), they are little to be found (now) the like of this woman, that she looks for her husband for a woman to marry as second.

Thus, This, there is no issue (of ba's) in it and nothing of problems in it.

Weakness and Despair

Shaykh Al-Islaam Ibnu Taymiyyah رحمه الله said:

There is no good in weakness nor in despair, as we find in the condition of many people, even some of the religious, when they are oppressed or see an evil; they neither defend (the truth) nor are they patient, but rather they become incapable and fall into anxiety.

The Causes of Abandonment (From Allaah)

There is no doubt that the causes of abandonment are many, and here I am mentioning the most important of them, and from them are:

16 - The Abandonment of a Muslim by His Muslim Brother:

Poem:
And often they promised to support you in the battlefield, they promised, but the utmost of their support was abandonment. (1)

And from the causes of abandonment is the abandonment of a Muslim for his Muslim brother; because the recompense is of the same type as the deed.

From Jaabir ibn ‘Abdillaah and Abu Talhah رضي الله عنهما who said: The Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said: “There is no person who abandons a Muslim in a place where his sanctity is violated and his honor is diminished, except that Allaah will abandon him in a place where he loves to be supported. And there is no person who supports a Muslim in a place where his honor is diminished and his sanctity is violated, except that Allaah will support him in a place where he loves to be supported.” (2)

So reflect on how the abandonment of a Muslim for his Muslim brother is a cause for Allaah’s abandoning him, just as the support of a Muslim is a cause for Allaah’s support.

And Ibn al-Roomi’s saying pleases me:

“I took you as armor and a shield, so that you might repel the arrows of the enemies from me, but you became their deliverers.
And I used to hope from you the best of supporters, at the time when the right hand abandons its left.
So if you do not preserve a covenant for my affection, then be neither against it nor for it.” (3)

And know that whoever advises you sincerely has indeed loved you, and whoever flatters you has deceived you, and whoever does not accept your advice is not your brother.

And Allaah knows, while you do not know.
(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:216, Translation of Muhsin Khan and Taqi-ud-Din al-Hilali)

Here we find complete consolation.

For we do not know where the good outcome lies.

Perhaps we disliked a matter that was, in fact, our happiness.

And perhaps we loved a matter that was, in it, our misery.

But Allaah turned it away from us.

Be completely certain that if Allaah wills good for you, He will bring it to you, even if it must pass through a thousand narrow paths.

So much so that you will marvel at how it arrived to you.

The Correct Creed

The Virtues of Tawheed 1 of 2

Abdullaah Ibnu ‘Amrin رضي الله عنه said: I heard the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ say:

“Indeed, Allaah will bring forth a man from my Ummah before all of creation on the Day of Resurrection.

Ninety-nine scrolls will be unrolled before him, each scroll extending as far as the eye can see. Then He will say: ‘Do you deny any of this? Did My recording angels wrong you?’ The man will say: ‘No, my Lord.’ He will say: ‘Do you have any excuse?’ He will say: ‘No, my Lord.’

He will say: ‘Rather, you have with Us a good deed, and today you will not be wronged.’ So a small card will be brought out on which is written:

‘I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allaah in truth, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.’

He will say: ‘Bring forth your scales.’ The man will say: ‘O my Lord, what is this card compared to these scrolls?’ He will say: ‘You will not be wronged.’

Then the scrolls will be placed on one side of the scale and the card on the other side; the scrolls will become light, and the card will become heavy, for nothing can outweigh the Name of Allaah.”

At-Tirmidhi 2639, Ibn Maajah 4300 and Shaykh Al-Albaani authenticated it in As-Saheehah and Al-Jaami‘ As-Sagheer (6/272–273).

Noble Manners

13. Al-Karam (Generosity) 1

Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه narrated that the the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said:

“The believer is simple and generous, and the wicked is deceitful and ignoble.”

Abu Dawud 4790, and Tirmidhi 1964 transmitted it and Shaykh Al-Albaani declared it in Hasan As-Saheehah 935.

Shaykh Fayṣal Al-Hashidi حفظه الله mentioned:

Generosity is the core of noble manners and the paths of virtue. Manners are described by it and are honored by being attributed to it, in the manner of annexing the attribute to the described. Thus, everything that is elevated in its domain is described by it.

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه that the Prophet ﷺ said: “Indeed, I was only sent to perfect the noble manners (Makaarimu Al-Khlaaq root word ك ر م) ”. Ahmad 8952 transmitted it and Shaykh Al-Albani authenticated it in Saheeh adab mufarad 207

And in another narration: “Righteous manners.”

And it suffices you that generosity is an attribute from the attributes of Allaah, Blessed and Exalted.

On the authority of Sa‘d ibn Abi Waqqās رضي الله عنه that the Prophet ﷺ said: “Indeed Allaah is Generous, He loves the generous; He is Bestower, He loves bestowal.”
Ibnu Asākir and Ad-Diyā’ transmitted it and Shaykh Al-Albaani authenticated it in in As-Ṣaḥīḥah (1378, 1626).

And on the authority of Ibnu ‘Abbās رضي الله عنهما that the Prophet ﷺ said: “Indeed Allaah, Exalted is He, is Bestower, He loves bestowal, He loves lofty manners and He hates base ones.” Abu Nu‘aym in Al-Ḥilyah; Shaykh Al-Albaani authenticated it in As-Ṣaḥīḥah (1627).

And on the authority of Sahl ibn Sa‘d As-Sā‘idī رضي الله عنه that the Messenger of Allaah ﷺ said: “Indeed Allaah is Generous, He loves generosity.” At-Ṭabarāni in Al-Kabīr; Shaykh Al-Albaani authenticated it in As-Ṣaḥīḥah (1378, 1626).

Gentleness in words

Words are like colocynth (bitter fruit) that wound hearts, and like flowers that open them.

“Why don’t you stop this?” Rather say: “If you were to stop this, I think it would be more beautiful.”

So do not say: “Why did you not reply?” Rather say: “Would you kindly respond to my message,” or “I would be pleased to hear your opinion whenever you are able.”

And so measure upon this, for words are the mirror of their speaker: harsh ones reveal harshness, gentle ones reflect a beautiful soul.

Shaykh Fayṣal Al-Hāshidī — may Allaah preserve him.

Allaah’s protection and defense of His slave depends on two:

Verily, Allaah defends those who believe. (Al-Hajj 22:38)

So His defense of them is in accordance with the strength and perfection of their faith, and the substance of faith and its power lies in the remembrance of Allaah, the Most High. Thus, whoever is more complete in faith and more abundant in remembrance, Allaah’s protection and defense of him will be greater; and whoever’s (faith and remembrance) decrease, his defense decreases — remembrance for remembrance, and forgetfulness for forgetfulness.
