Today, Lumia finalizes every L2 batch with a zk-proof on Ethereum. Rock solid, but slow — each batch waits on a prover, adding time and cost.
We’re moving to the pessimistic model:
🔘 Batches post to L1 instantly. 🔘 A short challenge window secures them. 🔘 If no disputes, they finalize.
This removes the prover bottleneck, cuts baseline costs, and adds flexibility. And with Type 1 proving, Lumia will support all latest EIPs up to Pectra without circuit redesign.
Security remains intact: data stays available (via Avail), and one honest actor can dispute fraud.
