✍️ واژه‌ی people اگر به معنی "قوم، نژاد یا مردم یک ملت" باشد، اسم مفرد قابل شمارش است و میتواند a بگیرد یا بصورت جمع بکار برود:
a people = a race
• His dream is that the peoples of the world will one day unite.
آرزویش این است که اقوام/نژادها/ملت‌های دنیا یک روز متحد شوند.
✍️ اما people در صورتی که به معنی "مردم" بطور کلی باشد (زنان، مردان، کودکان)، حالت جمع دارد و همراه با a یا s جمع استفاده نمی‌شود.
people (plural noun) = men, women and children
• He finds it difficult to get along with people.
برای او کنار آمدن با مردم دشوار است.
