Last Update:
The Mona Lisa was kidnapped.
Not now, but nearly a century ago. One not-so-educated Italian decided that the painting belonged in Leonardo's homeland and snatched it from the Louvre.
The Gioconda was not popular then. The theft went unnoticed for a week. And when it was finally detected, it took a long time to find it. But, it became a sensation!
All the newspapers kept talking and writing about the painting. The whole world wondered where it had gone. When it was returned, the Louvre set a record for visitors.
Everyone would later declare to their friends, "I've seen it!"
So the Portrait of Madame Lisa del Giocondo became a mass cultural phenomenon.
Yet why did the thief choose this particular painting?
He chose it simply for its small size and its convenient hanging. It was the easiest to carry out.
Just an ridiculous accident made the picture not only famous and revered by everyone, but also made the picture a symbol of art in general.
Fame is loved by every creator. Every artist dreams of such a thing. The harsh reality is that you can't steal a digital painting from the Louvre.
It is, and always will be, guaranteed to belong to its Holder.
However, how do you make a project legendary?
We chose the path of consolidation. Creating a strong community in 6 languages: Russian, English, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Turkish. The path of constant work and understanding with the audience.
And we keep actively promoting the project outside of Telegram.
We will tell you about it quite soon.
If chance could turn a work into a legend, what kind of result might purposeful action bring?
