پادشاهی بحرین به عنوان تنها کشور عربی خلیج فارس با اکثریت جمعیت شیعه، همراه با عربستان در سال 2016 روابط دیپلماتیک خود را با ایران قطع کرد. در هفتههای اخیر، پادشاه بحرین در دیدار با روسای جمهور چین و روسیه از تمایل خود برای عادیسازی روابط با ایران سخن گفته است. این ابراز تمایل مصادف با آزادی تعداد زیادی از زندانیان از زندانهای آلخلیفه بوده است. اکنون باید دید ایران با چه شرایطی وارد مذاکرات عادیسازی می شود و آیا احیای روابط بر وضعیت شیعیان این کشور تاثیرگذار خواهد بود؟
