Космическим аппаратам «Экспресс-РВ» предстоит работать на высокой эллиптической орбите. Их ресурсы позволят обеспечить связь и передачу данных в труднодоступных малонаселённых регионах.

Приёмники будут получать сигналы с «Экспрессов» как на стационарных, так и подвижных объектах. Это позволит, например, обеспечить связью морские суда на всем протяжении Северного морского пути.

Сейчас специалисты компании «РЕШЕТНЁВ» работают над модемом для абонентских терминалов и центральных станций, а также разрабатывают абонентский терминал для использования в поездах.
