ترجمه: «بریده رَضِیَ اَللهُ عَن‍‍‍‍ْهُ می‌گوید: نبی اكرم ﷺ علی را بسوی خالد فرستاد تا خُمس اموال غنیمت را تحویل بگیرد. علی (با كنیزی كه از اموال خُمس بشمار می‌رفت؛ همبستر شد و) غسل كرد. من كه از این كار علی، ناراحت شدم، به خالد گفتم: این را نمی‌بینی كه چكار كرده است؟!. هنگامی كه نزد نبی اكرم ﷺ آمدیم، این ماجرا را برایش بازگو نمودم. آنحضرت ﷺ فرمود: «ای بریده! آیا كینه علی را در دل داری»؟ گفتم: بلی. فرمود: «با او دشمنی مكن زیرا سهمیه او از خُمس، بیشتر از این است»».
