ترجمه: «جابر رَضِیَ اَللهُ عَن‍‍‍‍ْهُ می‌گوید: روز جنگ احزاب كه خندق را حفر می‌كردیم با لایه بسیار سختی مواجه شدیم. صحابه نزد رسول اكرم ﷺ رفتند و گفتند: لایه بسیار سختی جلوی حفر خندق را گرفته است. نبی اكرم ﷺ فرمود: «من پایین می‌روم». سپس برخاست در حالی كه بر شكم مبارک‌اش سنگ بسته بود. شایان ذكر است كه سه روز گذشته بود و ما چیزی نخورده بودیم. آنگاه، نبی اكرم ﷺ كلنگ را گرفت و بر آن لایه زد.و آن لایه، مانند‌ریگ از‌هم پاشید».
