ترجمه: «ابوبكره رَضِیَ اَللهُ عَن‍‍‍‍ْهُ می‌گوید: اقرع بن حابس به نبی اكرم ﷺ گفت: سارقین حجاج كه عبارت از قبایل اسلم، غفار و مزینه هستند، با تو بیعت كردند. راوی می‌گوید: فكر می‌كنم كه قبیله جهینه را هم نام برد. نبی اكرم ﷺ فرمود: «به من بگو: اگر قبایل اسلم و غفار و مزینه و جهینه از قبایل تمیم و بنی عامر و اسد و غطفان، بهتر باشند، آیا اینها (گروه دوم) زیانكار و ناكام نیستند»؟ اقرع گفت: بلی. رسول اكرم ﷺ فرمود: «سوگند به ذاتی كه جانم در دست اوست، آنها (گروه اول) از اینها (گروه دوم) بهتراند»».
