is there a british english language pack for windows 7!

I want to download the official windows 7 british english language pack for injecting in a temporary install on my main hardware. After the eol of windows 7, tools like my digitallife's windows iso download tool and rufus did work for a decent period of time. They were a genuine source of the official iso. But now they both don't seem to relassed anymore. Rufus removed the windows 7 download button and heidoc iso tool's download link results. There are language packs on web but i asked ChatGpt to look for one

Anyone know where to get one from?

How much space should the "windows" folder take up?

My windows folder on the C: drive takes up 60 GB and 47GB on the drive, is that normal? If not, is it possible to free some storage up?

Disk Usage 100% solution no one writed anywhere

Hello! Like many users in the internet, I issued problem when disk usage 100%, with SSD, in random time, and no solution works. I found solution that worked for me.

1. Open device manager
2. Set view to "Devices by connection"
3. Right click to root device in tree (something like "microsoft acpi-compatible system")
4. Select "Uninstall"
5. All devices will be deleted and reinstalled.
6. After this, problem is gone, now it wasn't return in several days.

Sorry for errors, English is not native for me.

Is there a .cpl file to get this menu?

Is there a command I can run from a shortcut to get "sound" menu (pic below) to avoid having to load options menu, go to sound, then scroll all the way to the bottom to get the option for this?

Is there anyway to convert a .bin to .img on windows?

My dad was gifted a Gamestick lite 4k (that stuff is ancient omg) from a neighbor and wanted me to add some other PS1 games.
From what I found it only supports img?? which roms that I've seen only have bin and cue.
Plz explain it to me like I'm 5 if you know how, I'm a total noob at this stuff and I have no idea what I'm doing, thanks!

Wrote a batch script for Windows maintenance – it’s saving me a ton of time

# I made a Windows Maintenance Tool in batch β€” it's simple, clean, and actually useful

Hey everyone,

I’ve been messing around with batch scripting lately and decided to put together a Windows maintenance tool. It’s basically a one-stop script that can help clean up your system, run built-in diagnostics, fix common network issues, and generate system reports β€” all from one terminal menu.

It started as a personal project for my own use, but it’s become pretty handy, so I figured I’d share it.

# What it does:

Run things like SFC, DISM, CHKDSK without digging through menus
Restart network adapters with one click (auto-detects active ones)
Reset Windows Update services (stops + clears cache + restarts)
DNS tools: flush, set Google/Cloudflare, or custom DNS input
Generate full system reports (driver list, system info, IP config) β€” saved as 3 separate `.txt` files to keep it organized
Option to clean up temp files and do basic optimization

I made sure nothing destructive runs silently β€” most of it uses built-in Windows tools like netsh, ipconfig, systeminfo, etc.

# Why I made it:

I got tired of typing the same commands every time someone had a problem, so this just automates everything. It’s also a nice little project for learning batch scripting.

If anyone wants to try it or has feedback, Download link: https://mega.nz/folder/HAFDHDYK#rj4McXHXeWHA1xn7Ph9DbA

Let me know if there's anything you'd add or improve β€” I’m still updating it.

What’s the difference between SFC and DISM?

Anyone able to guide, both tools in CMD seem to do roughly the same corruption checks.

Whats the difference/when to use both?

Thanks!

ARM vs x86: Does it matter for basic use?

Hi all! We're may be buying a new Windows PC for the first time in more than a decade -- I'm a Mac guy and my wife has just been using her work laptop. But now she's switching jobs and will need a computer of her own. My big question is, for what she's going to use the computer for -- web surfing, email, and MS Office, basically -- does it matter whether she gets an ARM or x86 CPU? I assume at this point that all the basics will run on both architectures, but I wanted to double check. I remember when the first ARM PCs rolled out they were kind of limited.

Microsoft revealed a new gaming-handheld running a new "Xbox/Windows hybrid OS"

The Xbox ASUS handheld is a Windows machine but has shut down the classic/legacy Win32 environment for better performance and user experience. Kind of like Windows 8 but Microsoft may have learned from their mistakes.

If the user wabt they can activate the classic Windows 11 and use the handheld as a traditional PC.

This seems like Windows 8 but done right?

Best Windows Laptop for Premiere Pro?

For starters, I am technologically illiterate, for the most part. I am in need of a new Windows laptop for which to run Premiere Pro on. I did a little bit of surface level research, but figured directly asking those who know would be more informative.

The research I did do suggested that a MacBook would run Windows more effectively; but given I am only familiar with Windows operating systems, I would heavily prefer to stay on a Windows system of some kind. I used to edit on PC and that worked splendidly, but I don't have access to the PC/desktop anymore.

So, my question is, what model/system of Windows Laptop could run Premiere Pro effectively? Price is of not much concern to me as of now. All I'm looking for is some suggestions of Windows systems that could run Premiere

Thanks

WTF windows? Opened Bing once and it changed my entire cursor theme.

First of all, why the heck would this even happen?? And of course it's not my default browser, I fell for the trick of opening something from windows search. Yes I know how to change it back, even considering it requires opening an old windows XP (or older?) settings dialog because I prefer an older style.

TBH that's my bigger gripe/question. I'm not a super user, I just like to know how to do basic stuff. Customize power settings, screen saver stuff like that. Does Microsoft have any idea how terrible it looks and reflects on them, when you simply can't change some basic system settings with the new, current windows version settings dialog and you have to search around an older version of the system settings? Does this change in windows 11, do they have any plans to change it, or is there some obscure reason why it will be like this forever?

Stuff like registry editor etc I can understand but the screen saver and advanced power settings is shocking to me. I guess a lot of people would say it's just the UI but that kind of stuff really informs how users interact with the system and how intuitive it is.

Tool JigsawWM - Windows Tiling Manager now with Workspaces Support!

Hey folks πŸ‘‹

Just pushed a new update to **JigsawWM**, my open-source productivity tool for Windows 10/11 that brings Linux-style tiling window management and keyboard/mouse automation (like AutoHotkey but programmable in Python).

### πŸ†• What's New in the Latest Release:

✨ Workspaces Support
You can now create and switch between multiple workspaces, independently per monitor β€” perfect for multi-monitor setups!

πŸͺŸ Smart Window Maximization
Maximized windows now automatically retain their size/position within the tiling layout.

πŸ› οΈ Stability Improvements
Fixed an issue where invalid monitor handles could cause tiling to break after display changes (e.g., docking/undocking).

🎨 UX Polishing
Minor usability and responsiveness tweaks for a smoother experience.

---

This is especially useful for devs, power users, and keyboard-first workflow lovers.

If you're looking for something like dwm/i3 + AutoHotkey + Python scripting for Windows, give it a spin:

Happy tiling!
