Working Visit to Egypt | Day Two
From global challenges to practical cooperation — the second day of the visit was filled with discussions on the transformation of the world order and the development of Russian-Egyptian scientific partnership.
The day began with an expert dialogue at a closed roundtable titled “Russian-Egyptian Relations in the Context of a Changing World Order.”
Participants discussed the opportunities the evolving global landscape offers to Moscow and Cairo, as well as the role of the Global South and BRICS in strengthening bilateral cooperation. Special attention was given to the potential contributions of think tanks and academic institutions in this process.
In the afternoon, Russian and Egyptian experts exchanged views on the future of scientific collaboration. Representatives from Sechenov University, MEPhI, HSE University, MGIMO, and the Institute of Oriental Studies (RAS) engaged in dialogue with their Egyptian counterparts on joint projects in medicine, energy, computer science, and water research.
Tomorrow’s agenda includes a meeting with Egyptian NGOs and a discussion on public diplomacy mechanisms.
