Conservatory Rector Aleksei Vasiliev briefed the President on the restoration work completed at its historic building. Vladimir Putin toured the renovated halls and classrooms and attended a concert performed by students and faculty.
Opened in 1862, the St Petersburg Conservatory is a powerhouse in music education of both Russia and the entire world. The composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov was a professor here for 37 years.
