South Korea unveils all-muscle humanoid robot with human-level control
▪️South Korean robotics giant WIRobotics has unveiled ALLEX, its first general-purpose humanoid robot, at the Robot Innovation Hub (RIH) at the Korea University of Technology.
A portmanteau of “ALL-EXperience”, ALLEX can respond to force, contact, and impact in the real world, apart from its visual recognition and positional control capabilities.
The robot’s precise force control and flexible motion have ensured it applies to both industrial and household tasks. ALLEX is engineered to handle multiple tasks using its ability to respond to stimuli like humans do. It has 15 degrees of freedom (DOF) to make life-like movement and complex interactions. It detects and responds to forces as small as 100 gram-force (gf) even without tactical sensors, moreover it delivers 40 Newton fingertip force.
