أنشد «بحرُ الجودِ» عبدُالله بنُ جعفرَ بنِ أبي طالب هذين البيتين:

إن الصنيعةَ لا تكون صنيعةً
حتى يصابَ بها طريقُ المَصْنَعِ

فإذا اصطنعت صنيعةً فاعمِدْ بها
لله أو لذوي القرابة أو دَعِ

فقال عبدُالله بن جعفر:

«هذان البيتان يبخِّلان الناس، ولكن أَمْطِرِ المعروفَ مَطَرًا؛ فإن أصاب الكرامَ كانوا له أهلًا، وإن أصاب اللئامَ كُنْتَ له أهلًا».

«اصطناع المعروف» لابن أبي الدنيا (ص٥٢)
