ا❁﷽❁

“Shall I take other gods besides Him? If the Most Merciful intends harm for me, their intercession will be of no benefit to me whatsoever, nor can they save me.”

📖 Surah Yasin

⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️

✍️ In the previous verses, it was mentioned that a truthful man, in disputing with his people, argued that: Why should I take the idols as my deity, while they cannot save me from evils and afflictions, nor do they have any role in intercession?

In the noble verse 24, continuing from the previous verses, it is stated that the result of taking idols as deities is nothing but “clear misguidance” (Ḍalāl Mubīn).

🔰 Meaning of “Ḍalāl Mubīn” (Clear Misguidance):

📃 Ḍalāl (misguidance) means deviation from the truth:

“Indeed, I see you and your people in clear misguidance [that is, deviation from the path of truth].”
(Surah al-Anʿām, verse 74)

Its meaning becomes clearer when contrasted with guidance, as He says:

“Say: ‘My Lord knows best who has come with guidance, and who is in clear misguidance.’”
(Surah al-Qaṣaṣ, verse 85)

Some have also counted destruction, being lost, falsehood, and disgrace among the meanings of Ḍalāl. These meanings are derived from the first one, which is deviation from the truth and the straight path.

📃 Mubīn means clear and manifest — something that is evident in itself and also makes things evident.

🖋 In the commentary of the previous verses, it was explained that the adoption of deities (ālihah) means associating partners with God (shirk) and taking idols as objects of worship. The deeper reality (bāṭin) of adopting deities, in its fullest sense, is to accept anything other than the guardianship (wilāyah) of the supreme Wali of Allah.

The wilāyah of the Wali of Allah is the wilāyah of Allah Himself, and obedience to him — who guides towards pure monotheism — is obedience to God. In contrast, accepting deities and the manifestation of shirk, namely ṭāghūt, results in nothing but misguidance and deprivation from intercession.

✔️ In their true meaning, ālihah are the Imams of disbelief (aʾimmat al-kufr), who are the root of darkness in existence. Thus, for their followers they provide nothing but a mirage and fire:
“Their intercession will not avail me anything, nor will they save me.” They have no status or capacity for intercession, for they are nothingness.

▶️ Therefore, the outcome of accepting the guardianship of ṭāghūt — which is the source of darkness and misguidance — is nothing but deviation and misguidance.

✍️ The verses referring to the adoption of the calf of Sāmirī by the people of Banī Isrāʾīl, even while the successor (waṣī) of Prophet Mūsā (p), Prophet Hārūn (p), was among them, along with the exegetical narrations of those verses, provide a basis for understanding the reality and meaning of ālihah. From this foundation, it has been explained that within the Ummah of the Prophet (p), the Sāmirī of the community is the second accursed one (malʿūn al-thānī), who embodies the reality of ālihah in its fullest sense, and who, by adopting the calf — the first accursed caliph — called people towards shirk.

“And the Sāmirī led them astray.”
(Surah Ṭā Hā, verse 85)

#Verse_23

✔️ The cause of the misguidance of jinn and humankind — the root and origin of deviation in existence — is the ālihah (false deities) who rose in rebellion against the wilāyah of the supreme Wali of Allah, Amir al-Mu’minin, Ali ibn Abi Ṭālib (p), and called people towards themselves.

🖋 Imam Ja‘far al-Ṣādiq (p), in the commentary of the noble verse:

“Our Lord! Show us those who led us astray, from among the jinn and humankind, that we may place them under our feet so that they may be among the lowest.”
(Surah Fuṣṣilat, verse 29)

⚜️ Imam stated:

“From among the jinn, it was Iblīs, who in Dār al-Nadwah suggested the killing of the Prophet of Allah, and misled people with sins. After the passing of the Messenger of Allah (p), he came to Abu Bakr and pledged allegiance to him. And from among humankind, it was so-and-so (referring to the second accursed caliph).”

📗 Biḥār al-Anwār (Beirut edition), vol. 30, p. 155

What is meant by the two causes of misguidance of the people of Hell are: Iblīs from among the jinn, and the second accursed caliph, who is the human Satan. The second accursed one is the ālihah in the absolute sense — the true idol, the Sāmirī of this Ummah, the possessor of the calf. And Iblīs, who on the day of Dār al-Nadwah pledged allegiance to the accursed Abū Bakr.

☑️ The fact that Iblīs pledged allegiance to the calf shows that the real cause and ultimate reality of misguidance in existence is the possessor of the calf — namely, the second caliph (may Allah’s curse be upon him).

✍️ Although the word ālihah is in the plural form and applies to all those who, in opposition to the supreme Wali of Allah, claimed the caliphate, authority, and status, and invited people to shirk, yet since the root of corruption on earth, the source of all evil, and the cause of shirk and misguidance of both jinn and mankind ultimately goes back to the second accursed caliph, therefore in its fullest meaning it is attributed to the second caliph, the usurper of the right of the supreme Wali of Allah, who called people to himself in opposition to the wilayah of the supreme Wali of Allah.

#Verse_23

«“Indeed, Allah does not forgive that partners should be associated with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills. And whoever associates partners with Allah has strayed with far misguidance.”
(Surah al-Nisāʾ, verse 116)

☑️ Based on this noble verse, the result of shirk is distant misguidance (ḍalāl baʿīd). Taking false deities and committing shirk is the only sin that is never forgiven. But what is less than that, Allah the Exalted forgives through the wilāyah of the Master of the Faithful, Amir al-Mu’minīn (p). As Imam Muḥammad al-Bāqir (p) explained regarding this verse:

“Allah does not overlook shirk with Himself” — meaning, Allah does not overlook shirk with the wilayah and obedience of ʿAli ibn Abī Ṭālib (p). But His saying: ‘And whatever is less than that, He forgives for whomever He wills’ — [this forgiveness] is because of his wilayah.”

📗 Biḥār al-Anwār, vol. 36, p. 136
📗 Tafsīr Furāt al-Kūfī, vol. 1, p. 105

☑️ The true reality of shirk is shirk in the wilāyah of the Manifestation of Divine Unity — that is, shirk in the wilāyah of the supreme Wali of Allah. Whoever associates a partner in the command of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, regarding the wilāyah of the supreme Wali of Allah — in other words, whoever takes false deities (ittikhādh al-ālihah) — is in far misguidance (ḍalāl baʿīd).

«“Have you not seen those who were given a share of the Book, they purchase misguidance and wish that you too should stray from the (right) path?”
(Surah al-Nisāʾ, verse 44)

🖋 In the exegesis of this noble verse, the Prophet (p) said:

“They purchase misguidance (yash’tarūna al-ḍalālah);” — this means that they went astray in the matter of Amir al-Mu'minin. “And they wish that you too should stray from the path (wayurīdūna an taḍillū al-sabīl);” — that is, they diverted the people away from the wilauah of Amir al-Mu'minin (p).”

#Surah_Yasin
#Verse_23

🖋 On the Day of Resurrection, when the followers of the false deities (ālihah / Imams of disbelief) seek a response and deliverance from punishment, they will be answered that what they pursued was a mirage and nothingness — like someone who stretches out his hand to draw water from a mirage, but there is no water for him to quench his thirst:

“Unto Him alone is the true call; and those whom they call upon besides Him never respond to them in any way — except like one who stretches out his hands to water so that it may reach his mouth, but it never reaches him. And the prayer of the disbelievers is nothing but in misguidance.”
(Surah al-Raʿd, verse 14)

🖋 Imam Muḥammad al-Bāqir (p), in the commentary of this verse, said:

“This is a parable, and Allah has presented this example for the idolaters and those who worship other than Him, who have no power to respond to them and bring them not the slightest benefit. They are like one who opens his palms hoping to draw water from afar — which will never happen. Likewise, the supplication of the disbelievers is false and futile.”

📔 al-Burhān fī Tafsīr al-Qurʾān, vol. 3, p. 240
📔 Tafsīr al-Qummī, vol. 1, p. 361
📔 Biḥār al-Anwār, vol. 9, p. 215

✔️ Since the reality of the ālihah — meaning the Imams of disbelief — is themselves non-existent and a mirage, they have nothing for their followers except emptiness and illusion. Therefore, adopting such ālihah is clear misguidance (ḍalāl mubīn).

“And the brothers of Yusuf came, and entered upon him; he recognized them, but they did not recognize him.”
(Surah Yūsuf, verse 58)

❇️ (133) The Blessed Title ⚜️al-Majhūl/

Among the blessed titles of our Master, Hazrat Baqiyyatallah al-Aʿẓam (may our souls be sacrificed for Him), is al-Majhūl.

🖋 Majhūl refers to a reality that has not been recognized — hidden, unknown, and concealed.

💠 Imam Jaʿfar al-Ṣādiq (p) regarding the hiddenness of Hazrat Baqiyyatallah (may our souls be sacrificed for him) among the people, referred to the hiddenness of Prophet Yusuf (p), and said:

_“In the case of Hazrat Qāʾim (p), there is a likeness to Yusuf (p): his brothers spoke with him but did not recognize him.”

📔 Kāmil al-Dīn wa Tamām al-Niʿmah, vol. 1, p. 28

Hazrat Ḥujjah (may our souls be sacrificed for him) walks in their marketplaces and treads upon their carpets, but the people do not recognize Him.”

📔 Kāmil al-Dīn wa Tamām al-Niʿmah, vol. 1, p. 145

The blessed title Majhūl among the titles of al-Ḥujjah ibn al-Ḥasan (may Allah hasten His reappearance) points to the unknown reality of His existence and the lack of recognition of the people regarding His Wilayah. Imam al-Ṣādiq (p) said:

“Then the Hazrat Qāʾim al-Ma'mul (longed for) (p) and Imam al-Majhul (p), who is the possessor of nobility and virtue, shall arise.”
📔 al-Ghaybah (al-Nuʿmānī), p. 275

🖋 And it has also come in the supplications:

“O Allah, manifest through Him the knots of truth and the unknown justice, for He is Your servant whom You have chosen for Yourself and selected for Your unseen.”

(Peace be upon her)

📜 It is said in the book Man La Yahduruhu al-Khatib that Imam Reza (peace be upon him) wrote a letter to Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah (peace be upon her). He gave the letter to one of his servants and told him not to stop anywhere on the way, so that the letter would reach Medina as quickly as possible. He also explained the exact address of the house of Imam Musa al-Kazim (peace be upon him), so the servant would not need to ask anyone.

🔖 The servant finally arrived in Medina and gave the letter to Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah (peace be upon her). As soon as she received it, she got ready for the journey and started her trip toward Iran. . 📚 Man La Yahduruhu al-Khatib, Vol. 4, p. 461
