وعُـدتُ غَـريـبـاً بـتِـلـكَ الـدِّيـارِ

وقَــد خَـذَلــوهُ وقَـد أسـلَــمـوهُ
وغَـدرَتُـهُــم لَـم تَــزَل واضِـحَـه

فيا ابن عَـقـيل فَـدَتكَ النُّفـوسُ
لِــعـظــمِ رَزِيَّــتِــكَ الــفــادِحَــه

لِـنَــبـكِ لـهـا بِـمُــذابِ الـقُـلـوبِ
فـمـا قَــدرُ أدمُـعِــنـا الـمـالِــحَـه

بَكَتـكَ دَماً يا ابنَ عَـمِّ الحُـسَينِ
مَـدامِـعُ شـيـعَــتِـكَ الـسّـافِـحَه

لأنَّــكَ لَــم تُـــروَ مِــن شـــربَــةٍ
ثَـنـايـاكَ فـيـهـا غَـدَت طـائِـحَـه

رَمَـوكَ مِن الـقَـصـرِ إذ أوثَـقـوكَ
فهَـل سَلِـمَت فيـكَ مِن جـارِحَه

وسَـحــبـاً تُــجَــرُّ بـأســواقِــهِـم
ألَـســتَ أمـــيـرَهُــمُ الـبــارِحَــه

قُـتِـلـتَ ولَـم تَـبـكِـكِ الـبـاكِـياتُ
