هموکروماتوز یک بیماری متابولیک است که در آن به دلیل اختلال در تنظیم جذب آهن از روده، آهن به‌طور بیش از حد در بافت‌ها (مخصوصاً کبد، پانکراس، قلب و مفاصل) تجمع پیدا می‌کند.
🔹اپیدمیولوژی:
شایع‌ترین اختلال ژنتیکی در جمعیت سفیدپوستان شمال اروپا شیوع بالا در مردان میان‌سال
🔸ژنتیک :
نوع اولیه (ارثی) اغلب به‌علت جهش در ژن HFE (شایع‌ترین جهش: C282Y)
🔹علائم بالینی:
➕ خستگی مزمن ➕ آرتروپاتی (بویژه در MCP مفاصل دوم و سوم) ➕ هپاتومگالی و افزایش آنزیم‌های کبدی ➕ پیگمانتاسیون پوست ➕ دیابت ملیتوس (به دلیل آسیب به پانکراس) ➕ کاردیومیوپاتی و نارسایی قلبی ➕ ناتوانی جنسی یا کاهش میل جنسی
