في اللغة الانجليزية, يتم تكوين الجمع في أغلب الحالات عبر إضافة حرف S إلى الكلمة المفردة.
أمثلة:

المفرد الجمع

لكن في حالات معينة تتم إضافة اكثر من حرف, كما في الحالات التالية:
بالنسبة للكلمات التي تنتهي ب y, نعوض Y ب IES.

Lady 👉🏼ladies

بالنسبة للكلمات التي تنتهي ب X, CH أو SH, نضيف ES.
