تلك الدودة تستمر في النمو حتى تصل في الطول نحو 20 سم وفي العرض حوالى 10 سم وتظل قابعة في القاع مختبئة تحت الرمال أو وراء الصخور حتى تأتى لها الفريسة فتغرز أنيابها الأمامية الحادة وتستمتع بوجبتها.
