قال تعالىٰ -مبيناً فضل هذا الشهر-: ﴿شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ الَّذِي أُنزِلَ فِيهِ الْقُرْآنَ هُدىً لِّلنَّاسِ وَبَيِّنَٰتٍ مِّنَ الْهُدَىٰ وَالْفُرْقَانِ﴾.
فهو شهر عظيم، سواءً ما يتعلق بنهاره أو ليله، وبعضه أفضل من البعض الآخر، فالعشر الأواخر هي أفضل أيام هذا الشهر، وليلة القدر أفضل ليالي هذه العشر بل أفضل ليالي السنة كلها.
