Professional development course for researchers and teachers

Facilitator: Keith Ray, an international school leader and adjunct university professor specializing in AI integration for academic writing and teaching. He helps educators and faculty design AI-enabled learning experiences, establish clear guardrails for ethical use, and leverage AI as a true thought partner in research and instruction.

Workshop Themes
🔹Can AI really write a persuasive research paper?
🔹Can AI really edit a research paper?
🔹Can AI help provide an adequate customized translation of a research paper?
🔹Can AI be used for other genres of academic writing?
🔹Can AI help make the author's voice audible in academic genres?
🔹Human3AI Collaboration: Friends, foes, or something more?

What You'll Gain

✔️ Practical strategies for using AI to draft, edit, and translate research papers while preserving authorial voice and critical thinking.

Now, newly-enrolled students know ITMO like the back of their hand – all credit to ITMO Universe!

On the first week of September, the ITMO Universe orientation event introduced all first-years to every facet of life at ITMO and, of course, students and staff of the university.

🌟At lectures and workshops, speakers spoke about the university’s structure and services, internship opportunities, startup initiatives, and academic mobility programs – in the language of memes, quips, and quizzes. First-year students also got the chance to tour ITMO’s historical campuses and the Museum of Optics.

🌟At ITMO Universe.Clubs, students could join sports clubs, musical and dance groups, student brigades, intellectual and board games clubs, a philosophical community, or a stand-up comedy club.

🌟The week concluded with a welcome party that brought together over 4,000 first-year students.

Programming has been part of his life since middle school – and now as an ITMO student, he’s building web and mobile apps. In addition to coding, he also plays guitar and connects with his international classmates:

They introduced me to their cultures, shared many interesting things, and showed me beautiful places. Perhaps one day my friends and I will launch a joint application.
