Our long-lasting tradition is back with the first breath of autumn. Take your bike, scooter, or roller skates and join us for our biannual bike ride next Tuesday!
🎁 As usual, we launch a giveaway for one lucky international student to get a free bike for the day! To participate, simply take this poll from KronBars, ITMO’s student sports club.
You don’t have to be a sports enthusiast – just share your opinion on physical activity. The only requirement for you is to be in St. Petersburg to be able to claim the prize.
On September 8 we’ll randomly choose a winner from those who filled in the form!

First off, congratulations to our winner, Laith Ahmad, who gets a free bike for the day! Please DM us at @itmo_uni_dm to claim your prize.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the ride tomorrow! For the best experience, here are some tips if you weren’t able to secure a bike via the registration form:
🔵 The route may include areas restricted for kicksharing services. To avoid any issues, we recommend renting a regular bicycle rather than an e-bike/e-scooter.
🔵 Around the starting point of the ride, there are several designated parking areas of SmartBike, a stationless bike rental service. Be sure to download the app to check availability in advance!
🔵 Another option is to rent from Velomarka. In this case, you may find it more convenient to arrive via the Begovaya metro station and then get to the starting point by bike.
🔵 If you happen to be a bit late or can’t find the gathering point on the day of the ride, please contact Ivan.

A data science student at ITMO, Jorge sees beauty in numbers, patterns in chaos, and friendship in a new city.
What ignites me the most is weaving my background in physics into the intricate tapestry of big data and machine learning. Concepts like neural networks, diffusion models, Kubernetes, and Docker aren’t just tools to me; they are living systems, echoes of the universe’s own design. I find beauty in how these technologies mirror the laws of nature, and I’m constantly seeking ways to translate that beauty into impact.

New academic year – same rules 📃
To make your stay in St. Petersburg safe and comfortable for international students at ITMO, we would like to remind you about some important migration regulations:
🔄 Notify ITMO about you arrival to Russia by sending an email with your travel tickets to omu@itmo.ru
🔄 Within three business days from the day of your arrival, visit the Migration Services Office to obtain a migration registration.
🔄 The address in the migration card must be your real address. If you change your place of residence, you need to obtain a new migration registration.
🔄 To extend your visa or migration card, come to Migration Services Office no later than 45 days before the document expires.
🔄 Take care of your medical documents! Make sure to complete and pick up the results of a new medical examination within 30 days after your previous examination has expired.
🔄 Always respond to calls and emails from the Migration Services Office. Inform them of any changes to your contact details. If the Ministry of Internal Affairs can’t reach you, they may reduce your permitted stay or require you to leave the country.
