قال ابن القيم رحمه الله:
فالحكمة التي جاءت بها الرسُلُ: هي الحكمة الحق؛ المتضمنة للعلم النافع والعمل الصالح؛ للهدى ودين الحق؛ لإصابة الحق اعتقاداً وقولاً وعملاً، وهذه الحكمة فَرقَها الله - سبحانه - بين أنبيائه ورسله، وجمعها لمحمد صلى الله عليه وسلم ، كما جمع له من المحاسن ما فرقه في الأنبياء قبله، وجمع في كتابه من العلوم والأعمال ما فَرَّقَه في الكُتُبِ قَبْلَه، فلو جُمِعَتْ كل حكمة صحيحة في العالم من كل طائفة؛ لكانت في الحكمة التي أُوتِيها - صلوات الله وسلامه عليه - جُزءاً يسيراً جدا، لا يُدْرِكُ البَشَرُ نِسْبَتَه
