يقول الحسن البصري: "إن الله جعل شهر رمضان لعباده مضمارَ سباقٍ، فسبق قوم ففازوا، وتخلف آخرون فخسروا، فعجب من اللاعب الضاحك في اليوم الذي يفوز فيه المحسنون، ويخسر فيه المبطلون".
