Thailand experiences

i’ve been in Thailand for three weeks now...and

normally, i’m a bit of a wallflower and, even while traveling, I tend to prefer quiet pastimes, work, and calm, peaceful activities. this time, however, I decided to step out of my comfort zone a little.

so far, i’ve managed to:

travel by local buses for 1.5 hours each way
go on two dates
find a local gym
talk to strangers as much as possible
admire sunsets and nature views
pet lots of stray cuties and feed them some prawns 😂

💡a few conclusions have come to me:

1️⃣the most important one is about people — they are, by and large, genuinely kind, helpful, and pleasant. despite what we often see on TV, in the news, or online, those portrayals are usually exaggerated. of course, there are some unpleasant individuals, but they are far from the majority.

2️⃣another realization is about life itself — it’s not nearly as scary as it sometimes seems. daily challenges, even in a foreign country, are rarely as difficult as we imagine. the chances of getting lost are low, and both locals and fellow travelers are almost always willing to help.

3️⃣i’ve also noticed how much our inner state indeed shapes our experiences. on days when i felt inspired and motivated, exciting things seemed to happen effortlessly. conversely, when i let myself slip into a negative mindset, the day felt dull and uneventful.

in conclusion, i wholeheartedly recommend solo travel, at least to safe and welcoming countries. it’s an incredible way to gain a deeper understanding of both the world and yourself.

WORDLIST:

wallflower – интроверт
by and large – в целом
portrayals – представления (в СМИ/культуре)
mindset – образ мышления
fellow travelers – другие путешественники
dull – скучный
