主觀嘅意義係指嗰個人自己係咪認為自己係香港人，而客觀嘅意義係指其他人係咪認為嗰個人係香港人。所以，完整身份認同係包括「自我認同」同「被他人所認同」兩個要素，咁樣先可以凝聚出香港民族。香港人口中係咪有足夠多嘅居民彼此認同係香港人，成為共同利益嘅群體，對係咪尋求獨立有重大影響。
