Tips for Paper 2(Writing)✏️

There will be 3 parts in this paper.You will have 1 hour and 30 minutes to answer paper 2.Paper 2 consists of 25 marks out of 100 marks.

Part 1(Short Communicative Message)😟
-20 marks
-Read the question carefully to know the background of the email sender.(Friend,family member,cousins etc)
-Read the content of the email and identify the requests of the sender.
-Underline/highlight the specific requests.
-Make sure you write all the requests in your email.
-Identify the type of response you need to give (suggestions/narrated facts/processes)
-Be straightforward but friendly when writing this essay.
-Start your email with a short greeting.Then,write the content.End it properly by saying goodbye or thanking the receiver.
-Use cohesive devices such as first,consequently,moreover and expressions.
-Write within the word and time limit.(80 words,20 minutes)
-Read your email again and check for errors in spelling,grammar and punctuation.

Part 2(Guided Essay)👍
-20 marks
-Read the questions carefully
-Read it several times and highlight the keywords.
-Note down what you must include.
-Plan the essay using the free writing approach.Be logical when you provide information.
-Remember to use the correct tense.
-The format:
•Introduction
•Body (1 or 2 paragraphs)
•Conclusion (sum up your essay)
-Use cohesive devices such as moreover,hence,furthermore,in addition and expression.
-Read again and chebck for errors in spelling, punctuation and grammar.
-Make neat,readable corrections.
-125-150 words & 30 minutes.

Part 3(Extended Writing)😵‍💫
-20 marks
-200-250 words& 40 minutes
-Read the questions carefully.
-Pick the question you feel strongly about.
-Be sure that you are clear with the question so you won't go off topic.
-Spend 6 minutes to brainstorm for ideas.
-Remember to use formal/informal language.
-Spare 5 minutes to recheck your essay.
-Look for language errors.

-Choose report if you are someone who likes to write things formally.
-Choose report if you are familiar with the format,if not you have a high chance of getting your marks deducted.
