In a statement given to MintPress, a representative of the Venezuelan commune movement said:
"We will fight until victory for the free destiny of our people. History shows that imperialism resorts to war when its interests are thwarted. We respond with organization, conscience, and the strength of a united people."
"There is no room for doubt when the homeland is at stake, only total commitment and willingness. We are prepared," they added.
Millions of Venezuelans have joined or were already members of patriotic civilian-military militias, formed to defend the country's revolution against threats, both internal and external.
The commune movement in Venezuela intends to turn the moment into another "Bay of Pigs" - the 1961 U.S.-backed invasion of Cuba that ended in complete humiliation for Washington.
