RT @JenniferJJacobs: Hegseth tells us the US on the offensive after drug cartels designated terrorists: "So our message to these foreign terrorist organizations is we will treat you like we have treated al Qaeda. We will find you. We will map your networks. We will hunt you down, and we will kill you." @SecWar

US President Trump on the flight of B-1B Lancer bombers near Venezuela:

"It's false"

Apparently he wasn't aware that the flight could've been tracked via open source, and that there's evidence that it indeed took place. https://twitter.com/thenewarea51/status/1981425431527006362#m

US President Trump on combating drug smugglers:

"The land is gonna be next. And we may go to the Senate, we may go to the Congress and tell them about it."

@MetalHedgeFella @Jonpy99: His point is valid. Russia was mostly losing disposable convicts while Ukraine's best brigades held the city and flanks. It bought time for Russia for its forces to recover and forced Ukraine to keep its best brigades on the front line instead of pulling back to receive NATO weapons.

Ukraine Battle Map (Twitter)

@WarMonitor3: The sanctions targeted 8 of the 12 main refineries that were hit by Ukrainian drone strikes. The four largest Russian oil refineries are not in these sanctions, neither are 21 of the 32 major Russian oil refineries

Only 3 of the 20 refineries that weren’t struck by Ukraine are in these sanctions. That lessens the effect of sanctions because those refineries unaffected by drone strikes and still largely producing aren't targeted, while refineries that were hit by numerous Ukrainian drone strikes and have significantly cut back on refining are included in these sanctions, reducing their overall impact

One positive effect has been that China has temporarily halted sea-borne imports of Russian oil

It would be most effective to sanction Russia’s entire hidden tanker fleet, prohibit it from docking at ports, putting secondary sanctions on countries like China if those ghosts tankers appear there, and seizing ships if they violate sanctions.

Additionally, sanctions on 100% of Russia’s oil refining should be put in place, instead of 35%, and placing sanctions on the ESPO oil pipeline running from China to Russia

REPORTER: President Putin basically said today that Russia is immune from US sanctions. He said that it would not impact the Russian economy in any serious way. Is he wrong?

US PRESIDENT TRUMP: Good. I'm glad he feels that way. That's good. I'll let you know about it in six months from now, okay? Let's see. Let's see how it all works out.

@ukraine_map @WarMonitor3: The sanctions imposed by the Trump Administration yesterday are estimated to affect

35% of Russia’s oil refining
30% of its crude oil production
15% to 20% of natural gas production

These sanctions are very similar to what Biden did, where he put sanctions on 40% of the Russian shadow tanker fleet instead of putting them on the entire or the majority of the fleet

Then, eventually, Russia was able to adjust and get around it, not that it didn’t have an impact on Russia; however, it also did not have a full effect on their tanker fleet, and allowed Russia to adapt
