@All_Source_News: Fair enough, I wasn't able to find another RJ's flight so deep in the Gulf of California, but if the plane didn't come as close as 12 nautical miles (22km) to the Mexico's coast, that means it stayed in the international airspace.
The closest the Rivet Joint got to Mexico's land during the latest flight was approx. 22 nautical miles (40km). That's assuming the flightradar route is correct, of course.
