﴿وَلَقَدْ نَصَرَكُمُ اللَّهُ بِبَدْرٍ وَأَنْتُمْ أَذِلَّةٌ فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ (١٢٣) ﴾ بعد ابتلاء المؤمنين في (أحد) أمرهم الله بشكره على النصر في بدر وتذكر نعمة الله عليهم فيها. فالابتلاء،الحاضر لا يعفي العبد من شكر النعمة الماضية. وأنت مريض احمد الله على سنوات العافية وأنت فقير احمد الله على سنوات الغنى الفائتة وأنت متعب احمد الله على أوقات الراحة وأنت غريب احمد الله على ذكريات الاجتماع والأهل.
وبعضهم تحصل له النعمة فلا يشكرها لأنه يخاف أن تزول في المستقبل والدنيا كلها زائلة لكن لا يعذر العبد بشكر النعم.
