إن الطفولة واحدة من أهم مراحل حياة الإنسان لما تحمله من نقاء وطهارة وتفاؤل وأمل في الحياة، حيث إنها ميدان رشد النشء الجديد وبناة حاضر ومستقبل الشعوب، وفي يوم الطفل العالمي نجدد التأكيد على أهمية تعاضد الجهود مع المنظمات الدولية المعنية كاليونيسف وغيرها للنهوض بواقع الطفل اجتماعيا ومعيشيا وتعليميا، وحمايته من الحروب والنزوح، كما يحصل اليوم في غزة ولبنان جراء الحرب التي يشنها الكيان الإسرائيلي على الشعبين الفلسطيني واللبناني.
عراقياً، نذكر بمبادرة الطفولة التي أطلقناها قبل سنوات والتي تضمنت دعوة السلطتين التشريعية والتنفيذية ومنظمات المجتمع المدني وجميع الفعاليات الدينية والسياسية والأكاديمية والإعلامية في العراق إلى حماية الطفولة وتأمين حقوقها المشروعة، وإنقاذ براعم الوطن من شبح الفقر والحرمان ومعالجة ابتعاد كثير منهم عن أجواء الطفولة والمدرسة وانتشالهم من مرامي عصابات الجريمة المنظمة، والمخدرات والإتجار بالبشر.

Childhood is one of the most pivotal stages in a person's life, symbolizing purity, innocence, optimism, and hope. It serves as the foundation for nurturing future generations who will shape the present and future of nations. On Children's Day, we reiterate the importance of uniting efforts with international organizations like UNICEF and others to improve children’s social, living, and educational conditions and safeguard them from the suffering caused by war and displacement, as witnessed today in Gaza and Lebanon due to the aggression of the Israeli entity against the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples.
In Iraq, we reflect on the Childhood Initiative we launched years ago, calling on the legislative and executive authorities, civil society organizations, and all religious, political, academic, and media sectors to protect childhood, ensure their legitimate rights, and shield the nation’s young from the shadows of poverty and deprivation. This includes addressing the issues that distance many children from the innocence of childhood and the pursuit of education while rescuing them from the grip of organized crime, drugs, and human trafficking.
