A Question from One of the  Students:

Our honorable Sheikh,
A person is seeking knowledge, has memorized the Quran, loves Allah and His messenger, holds in his heart concern for the ummah and yearns to reform its conditions. Yet, he falls into sins in private from time to time.  Each time he falls into sin, he repents to Allah and does good deeds in expiation. The question is: would his sins, if they are grave, prevent him from being a da’ee or a seeker of knowledge?

The Answer:
His sins would never prevent him from that.  It would only be the devil trying to prevent him, slow him down and hinder him from contributing to his religion.  Let him continue to strive hard, ask for Allah’s forgiveness, and seek to purify himself.  In the end, his sincerity and his seeking help from Allah will take him to a level where he tastes the sweetness of faith and despises deviance and disobedience, if Allah wills it.

Go on calling people to Allah and having care and love for your religion. Go on giving and improving. Do not give up.  Forget despair and frustration completely.

Many people give in to temptations that are considered forbidden, while others remain steadfast and overcome their own desires. They do so not because they lack feelings or desires, but because they have redefined their priorities based on divine guidance. The allure of worldly pleasures no longer holds a strong grip on them, unlike those who give in to their every whim.

To them, this world is only a temporary place to reside, not an eternal one. They believe that following one's desires is a sign of weakness and leads to downfall, whereas resisting them brings about righteousness and elevation. They are convinced that indulging in desires veils the path towards undesirable outcomes, while facing hardships paves the way towards something better.

These individuals firmly believe that trials and sorrows are predetermined tests meant for them to endure with patience and seek rewards from. Conversely, they see moments of joy and celebrations as blessings bestowed upon them by their higher power, for which they express gratitude without losing sight of reality.

The lives and affairs of these individuals are characterized by goodness and virtue. Something truly distinctive about them.

One of the great battles that Satan is waging in this time, using all his cunning and effort, is the battle for modesty, chastity, and human nature. Many people have succumbed to him, joining his ranks, and have become advocates of promiscuity, immorality, adultery, and obscenities. Some have openly become worshippers of Satan.
It is incumbent upon Muslims to engage in this battle to defend their nature, dignity, religion, morals, values, and future generations. There is no room for complacency or negligence in this regard; otherwise, the loss will be immense.
You, as parents, must realize that no one will fight this battle on your behalf to protect your sons and daughters. So, refrain from negligence and superficiality in dealing with reality and start today to educate and protect them, instilling in them the values of faith, modesty, and chastity. This issue is critical, and the danger can infiltrate homes and breach walls.

Your avoidance of thinking about it does not mean you will escape it. Those who remind you of it, in a world that encourages heedlessness and forgetfulness, are doing you a great kindness. Remembering this truth, preparing for it, and repenting for sins that may lead to a dire consequence, make a person feel secure because they are always prepared and aware of what awaits them,This remembrance also acts as a motivator for self-discipline, preventing one from indulging in their desires and encouraging self-improvement

The first word Yusuf heard when he was trapped in the well?

For those who started their journey by actively pursuing religious knowledge and fostering faith and education but later became inactive in advocating for reform, resulting in a lack of fruitful outcomes after a prolonged effort: Resist accepting this stagnation for yourselves, and don't embellish comfortable positions merely for personal ease. True happiness, joy, and fulfillment come from contributing, giving, and actively engaging, particularly during periods demanding reform. It's in these times that the efforts of those who actively contribute are highly rewarded, and a believer fears neglecting responsibilities to their faith and community
