دانشمندان دانشگاه آکسفورد متوجه شده‌اند نوعی رنگ فلورسنت می‌تواند به جراحان کمک کند دقیق‌تر محل سلول‌های سرطان پروستات را تشخیص داده و آن‌ها را بردارند.

برای اینکه خطر بازگشت سرطان کم شود، بسیار مهم است که همه سلول‌های سرطانی از بدن حذف شوند.

این رنگ درخشان به سلول‌های پروتئینی که تنها در سلول‌های سرطانی وجود دارند، می‌چسبد.

جراحان در آزمایش کوچکی که تنها با ۲۳ مرد انجام شد، گفتند این ماده رنگی به آن‌ها کمک کرد بافت‌های سرطانی که با چشم غیرمسلح یا با روش‌های پزشکی دیگر قابل‌دیدن نیستند را تشخیص بدهند.

قرار است با کمک مالی خیریه مطالعات سرطان بریتانیا، آزمایش بزرگ‌تری در مورد این روش انجام شود.
