๐Ÿ“Œ Understanding the Introduction Section in Scientific Writing

The introduction is a critical section of a scientific paper, setting the stage for the study by providing background, defining the research problem, and stating objectives. A well-structured introduction follows this format:

๐Ÿ”น Background โ€“ Presents context, significance, and relevant literature.
๐Ÿ”น Research Problem โ€“ Identifies gaps in existing knowledge.
๐Ÿ”น Objective โ€“ Clearly states the purpose of the study.

๐Ÿ“– Example of a Background Section (Excerpt):
"Lung cancer is a leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide. Despite advancements in targeted therapies, overall survival remains low. The expression of PD-L1 has been proposed as a potential biomarker for predicting response to immunotherapy."

๐Ÿ“Š Example of a Research Problem Statement (Excerpt):
"While PD-L1 expression has shown promise in stratifying patient response to immunotherapy, variability in outcomes suggests the need for further investigation into its predictive value across diverse patient populations."

๐ŸŽฏ Example of an Objective Statement (Excerpt):
"This study aims to evaluate the prognostic role of PD-L1 expression in lung cancer patients receiving immunotherapy and its association with survival outcomes."

๐Ÿ’ก Why Write a Strong Introduction?
โœ… Engages the reader by establishing the study's importance.
โœ… Clearly defines research gaps and justifies the study.
โœ… Provides a logical transition into the methodology.

During a meeting with the president of the Supreme Electoral Court (TSE) on June 6, Telegram's Vice President Ilya Perekopsky announced the initiatives. According to the executive, Brazil is the first country in the world where Telegram is introducing the features, which could be expanded to other countries facing threats to democracy through the dissemination of false content. Judge Hui described Ng as inciting others to โ€œcommit a massacreโ€ with three posts teaching people to make โ€œtoxic chlorine gas bombs,โ€ target police stations, police quarters and the cityโ€™s metro stations. This offence was โ€œrather serious,โ€ the court said. Avoid compound hashtags that consist of several words. If you have a hashtag like #marketingnewsinusa, split it into smaller hashtags: โ€œ#marketing, #news, #usa. Hui said the time period and nature of some offences โ€œoverlappedโ€ and thus their prison terms could be served concurrently. The judge ordered Ng to be jailed for a total of six years and six months. With the โ€œBear Market Screaming Therapy Group,โ€ weโ€™ve now transcended language.
