Whew, where to begin, indeed Where to begin?

In the beginning, when Trump announced he was having a rally for support in DC on the 6th of January I thought to myself, "I'd like to be there for that", little did I know then that the thought of liking to be there would morph into a compelling feeling of being "called" to be there complete with dreams for extra motivation. I've never cared to remember dreams before December 2020 and suddenly, dreams were more real than the evening news. By the time January rolled around I was worried into a frenzy of compelling emotions that I could not deny. That one thought had somehow snowballed into a feeling of duty as an American, a calling, if you will.
I have a friend some of you know, his name is Jefferson Lee Smith who was cut from the very same cloth as I and patriotic to the core. We made plans to drive up overnight and sleep in a parking spot in the truck if we got there early. We did get there early and opted for a motel room with a real bed and a fresh shower. We were up at the crack of dawn and performed our 3 S's and proceeded to the rally early. After about thirty minutes of driving the streets seeing all the people everywhere along the way smiling, singing and celebrating we finally found a parking spot roughly a mile away and walked in from there. We were determined to go, no matter what the cost or distance we had to travel.
For days upon days the mainstream media had hammered our brains that there may be trouble and not to go. They hounded anyone who listened to them "not to go. Stay away. Beware, beware beware." Beware of this, beware of that, it won't do any good blah blah blah. The media machine was in full tilt brainwash mode to stop the people from coming. I personally had visions of mayhem ranging from Jihadist bombings to government air strikes on us on into riot clashes between us and BLM and Antifa. Sitting in the truck before we left the parking lot to walk in, the first feeling of imminent doom overcame me, and I imagine others were feeling it too throughout the city. At that time, I had no idea of the scale of how many would join us against the onslaught of negative press, but we had been given clues along this path we had all chosen in blind faith. We had all heard the warnings from every news source of Antifa trying to infiltrate our ranks to cause us trouble and redirect that on to our President. We went anyways.
All morning radio and TV were making announcements of what would not be allowed at the rally, no backpacks, no flag poles, no outside containers, etc. warnings of minimal facilities and a lack of fresh water. We carried our own and went anyways.
Walking in I was struck again with the feeling of fear and imminent doom as we walked through the Teddy Roosevelt granite garden on our way to the Washington monument which was our clearly visible reference point where the rally was to take place nearby. An individual walked alongside us and struck up a conversation with Jeffrey, Jeff talks to everyone btw, who was wearing two backpacks front and back complete with an ax handle clearly sticking out of the pack on his back along with some sort of tripod sticking out as well. I overheard him imply he was packing iron too. It freaked me out enough to fall back twenty or more yards so I could keep my eyes on him while walking in. That was the second time I'd had a feeling of imminent doom both within 20 minutes of one another. We proceeded Anyways.
I've always wanted to go to Washington DC as a tourist to visit the monuments and see them up close where so many wonderful and historic events have taken place in this Nation. I have been particularly excited to see the Lincoln Memorial, but today I was not a tourist, and the Lincoln Memorial was not on the list of priorities of things to do so we strolled alongside the reflection pool to the World War II Memorial without a stop as well.
