TIMRAN celebrated her 5th Year Anniversary
TIMRAN, marked her 5th year anniversary on September 03, 2025, at the Sapphire Addis Hotel.
The event was attended by TIMRAN's founders, General Assembly members, donors, stakeholders, invited guests, and her staff.
On her opening remark, the Chairwoman of TIMRAN Board, Meskerem Geset, welcomed the event attendees and said TIMRAN is the result of aspiration and commitment. She emphasized that women do not have the political platform and public participation they rightfully deserve, and that there was a lack of organization for long-term, that coordinate such efforts on a daily basis.
She also highlighted there are many CSOs working on women's rights in generating the idea of establishing a specific organization. The commitment was bringing this struggle in organized way. Despite her young age, TIMRAN significantly contributed to ensuring women's active participation from the 6th general election to the Ethiopian national dialogue cause.
TIMRAN operates based on five key pillars: capacity building and public education, research and publication, advocacy, networking and partnerships, and support and protection.
On the event, with the financial support of CARE, TIMRAN’s five years impact assessment result presented and the findings of this research have contributed to updating her current strategic plan.
TIMRAN received a certificate of registration from Authority of Civil Society Organizations (ACSO) in March 2020 with the aim of empowering women to engage in politics and leadership.
