I just want to clarify a few things — lately, I’ve been getting too many PMs and tags, so please read this carefully.


📱 About Video Playback (OMX and C2):

- Starting with Android 14 end, Google dropped support for OMX and enforced C2 for media decoding.
Only devices that got Android 12 updates from their OEM have C2 blobs.

- Since our Begonia stopped at Android 11, we’re still stuck with OMX blobs.

⚙️ How does this affect us?

- Our device uses only software decoders, so we can’t play high refresh rate videos (like 1080p 60fps) smoothly.

- Some OTT apps (like Netflix) might work if switched to L3 — you can try and check.

- Broken Screen recorder(fix = disable hevc option it will be fine)

❓ Why can’t this be fixed?

- We don’t have C2 blobs And no, we can’t just use them from another device — they’re linked to the kernel and need an Android 12 base, so it’s not possible for Begonia from me(cz I'm nub 😶😶).

😗 Things to remember

- I don’t have a Begonia device anymore (it’s been over a year). I rely completely on testers — huge thanks to all Testers

- I don't wanna spending much time on Begonia now, but I’ll try to bring new QPRs or Android versions ASAP

- I'm continuing this work because no other devs are maintaining the trees — I just don’t want the community to die.

- Please understand that I’m doing all this for the community’s benefit.
I’m not asking for donations(if you willing wanted to do you can do from rom post link)— just a bit of appreciation means a lot 🙏
And please don’t DM me comparing ROMs (“this ROM is better than that one”). Almost every ROM for Begonia right now is based on my trees anyway.
