đź“… Today, the International Day of Women and Girls in Science is celebrated around the world on the initiative of the United Nations!
A diplomat from the Permanent Mission took part in a celebration event organised at UNESCO Headquarters on this occasion.
⚡️This year's theme is “Unpacking STEM Careers: her voice in science”.
❗️There are many women scientists and researchers in our country 🇷🇺who have made and continue making notable contributions to world science.

🏅Their names are well known: the first PhD in mathematics Sophia Kovalevskaya, the first doctor of medicine Nadezhda Suslova, the founder of antibiotics Zinaida Ermolieva, the winner of the L'ORÉAL/UNESCO Prize physicist Tatiana Birshtein, the laureate of the UNESCO-Russia Mendeleev Prize Irina Beletskaya and many other outstanding scientists.
