A CURE FOR THE HEARTS ✨
Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله:
“There is a chaos in the heart that cannot be brought to order except by one turning to Allāh, and in one's heart is a loneliness that cannot be removed except by finding company with Allāh whilst alone, and in the heart [as well] is a sadness that cannot be distanced except by finding happiness with knowing Allāh.”
[Madārij as-Sālikeen]
Reflections:
❖ The heart can only ever truly find ease by knowing Allāh and being close to Allāh
❖ No amount of distractions can fill the void a heart feels when one is far from Allāh, except by turning back to Allāh
Action Plan:
1. Set fixed times each day for focused remembrance of Allāh
2. Learn the 99 names of Allāh, know Him and become close to Him
3. Engage in istighfar throughout your day
ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَتَطْمَئِنُّ قُلُوبُهُم بِذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ ۗ أَلَا بِذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ تَطْمَئِنُّ ٱلْقُلُوبُ ٢٨
“Those who believe and whose hearts find comfort in the remembrance of Allāh. Surely in the remembrance of Allāh do hearts find comfort…” [13:28]
